H.E Tsion Teklu received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the Addis Ababa University in 1995 and completed her master’s degree in Transformational Leadership and Change in 2011 from the University of Greenwich. She is certified to be a 1 CA adjunct instructor for Management Tools by the United State Department of State.
Tsion has served at different capacities ranging from a clerical position to managerial then to specialist position at the US the diplomatic mission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Jan 1996 –August 2016.
Tsion was a part-time instructor at the Unity University, New Generation University, and International Leadership Institute, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where she is offering courses in Ethical Leadership, Principles of Marketing, Marketing Ethics, Personal Development, Theories, and Practices of Leadership for both undergraduates and graduate students since Feb 2016. She served also as a consultant for governmental and non-governmental organizations in organizational leadership and change. She also served as an assistant teacher for special needs students for one year.
From April 2019, H.E. Tsion Teklu was the state Minister of General Education.
Since April 2020 H.E. Tsion Teklu is the State Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Economy Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs.
