H.E. Mr. Darren John Welch, Ambassador of the #UK and Northern Ireland to Ethiopia, pays a courtesy call on the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of #Ethiopia, H.E.Demeke Mekonnen, today.
During the discussion, HE. Demeke expressed gratitude for the UK’s humanitarian support to people affected by conflict & natural disasters in Ethiopia.
He also affirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to the implementation of the Pretoria Peace Agreement. Besides resuming services in conflict-affected areas, he said Gov’t of Ethiopia is preparing a roadmap on a Transitional Justice mechanism & has established a high-level Inter-Ministerial Taskforce to implement the recommendations of the joint UN-EHRC to ensure accountability.
